Two Buttons

October 18, 2019

Big things today. Olly now has two buttons. Her g-tube surgery was a success and very quick. From they time the wheeled her back to the time she was done was about enough time for us to go get Subway, in the hospital come back and eat and she was done.

Post-op went well, Olly was tired most of the afternoon and got to hangout with Tara while we went down and did all of our training on the g-tube. Nurses have been great since surgery show us what they are doing and making sure we understand what they are doing and why.

Olly had a little bit of a rough stretch this evening. Just getting a pretty gassy. Taking a break from feeding and venting her g-tube to try and clear the gas before we start again. We are also going to do an anti-gas med when we get started again hoping to keep her comfortable.

Tomorrow is a special day because for the first time in over a week Lora and Nate both are leaving the hospital. We are taking Mara down to Mall of America and focus sometime on her. It will be the first day since Oct. 8th that Mara won’t be being bounced around and will have a mostly normal day.

Hopefully it is a quiet day for Olly, just working to get her feedings where they need to be. We are hoping to be able to go home Sunday but we will see. At this point I think we will believe we are going home once we are in the car driving away.

Thanks again for all the love and support we truly feel it and would be lost without it.
